- Prepare 1 cup of red lentil.
- It's 1-2 of onion chopped.
- Prepare 2 of green chillies finely chopped.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
- It's Pinch of hing.
- You need 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of coriander powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala (per your taste).
- You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's to taste of Salt.
- Prepare of Coriander leaves finely chopped.
- It's 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice.
- It's 4 tbsp of oil.
Red Lentil cutlets instructions
- Wash and soak lentil for 3-4 hours.Make a smooth & thin paste in grinder..
- Heat 1tbsp oil in a heavy bottom pan or vok.now add the paste (paste should not be thick,add water for thin consistency).
- Add 1/2 tsp salt and cook it on low flame (with out any lumps) So keep stirring continuously until it thickens.
- . Now Grease the backside of a thali and spread the thick layer of the batter on it evenly with wet hands..
- Let it cool.,then cut into equal strips.
- Now heat the oil in a pan,add cumin seeds,hing, chopped onion & chillies and roast it.Add ginger garlic paste..
- When it cooks add all spices.Stir well then add the pieces of masoor lentil.add some salt per your taste.
- Sprinkle some water and mix lightly. Cover with lid and Cook for 3-4 minutes then switch off the flame..
- Add lemon juice (optional). Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve as morning or evening snacks. You can make it also in gravy like paneer..
