Ingredients of Red Lentil cutlets

  1. Prepare 1 cup of red lentil.
  2. It's 1-2 of onion chopped.
  3. Prepare 2 of green chillies finely chopped.
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  5. It's Pinch of hing.
  6. You need 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of coriander powder.
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
  9. You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala (per your taste).
  10. You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  11. It's to taste of Salt.
  12. Prepare of Coriander leaves finely chopped.
  13. It's 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice.
  14. It's 4 tbsp of oil.

Red Lentil cutlets instructions

  1. Wash and soak lentil for 3-4 hours.Make a smooth & thin paste in grinder..
  2. Heat 1tbsp oil in a heavy bottom pan or vok.now add the paste (paste should not be thick,add water for thin consistency).
  3. Add 1/2 tsp salt and cook it on low flame (with out any lumps) So keep stirring continuously until it thickens.
  4. . Now Grease the backside of a thali and spread the thick layer of the batter on it evenly with wet hands..
  5. Let it cool.,then cut into equal strips.
  6. Now heat the oil in a pan,add cumin seeds,hing, chopped onion & chillies and roast it.Add ginger garlic paste..
  7. When it cooks add all spices.Stir well then add the pieces of masoor lentil.add some salt per your taste.
  8. Sprinkle some water and mix lightly. Cover with lid and Cook for 3-4 minutes then switch off the flame..
  9. Add lemon juice (optional). Garnish with coriander leaves.Serve as morning or evening snacks. You can make it also in gravy like paneer..
