Ingredients of Mincemeat (lamb/ beef) and Potato Curry (Aloo Keema)

  1. You need 4 Tbsp of oil.
  2. You need 2 of medium onions finely chopped.
  3. Prepare 1/2 kg of beef / lamb mincemeat (keema).
  4. You need 1 tsp of ginger paste.
  5. It's 1 tsp of garlic paste.
  6. It's 2 tsp of coriander powder.
  7. You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  8. You need 1 tsp of salt or to taste.
  9. You need 1 tsp of red chili powder.
  10. It's 1 tsp of red chilli flakes.
  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder (for sprinkle).
  12. Prepare 2 of medium potatoes cut into chunks.
  13. It's 1/2 cup of boiled water.
  14. You need 2-3 of green chilies.
  15. It's 1/4 cup of coriander leaves for garnish (divide).
  16. Prepare 2 of spring onions chopped.

Bengali Aloo Diye Keema Curry is prepared with mutton minced meat along with potato chunks and is a signature bengali delicacy. The Runny Keemar Torkari, the way it was called back home was all love. Keema is a basically a minced lamb curry, this one uses lamb mince but it can also use other types of minced meat. To make this minced lamb recipe, you brown off your lamb mince in a pan and set aside.

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and fry till nice golden brown..
  2. Add the mincemeat along with ginger & garlic paste. Cook on medium – high heat for a few minutes till color changes..
  3. Add the dry spices (coriander powder, salt, turmeric,red chili powder & red chilli flakes) Keep stirring for 4-5 minutes to let the spices cook..
  4. Add the potatoes and fry 4-5 minutes then add 1/2 cup of boiled water. Turn the heat slow and add 2-3 green chillies, chopped spring onion & some coriander..
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon powder cover and let cook till potatoes are tender. Take off heat. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, naan or boiled rice..

Then add your onions, garlic, ginger, chilli and curry paste and let them cook down. Add beef and potatoes and cook and stir to break up the mince and coat it all in the curry paste. Add chilli, tomatoes, stock and tomato purée, bring to a simmer, season with salt and Once the potatoes are tender remove from the heat and serve garnished with coriander with naan bread and boiled rice.
