- Wash and soak green gram for 6hrs and urad dal for 2hrs in water(1:2 ratio).For 1 cup green gram use 2 cup and for 1/2cup urad dal use 1 cup water..
- Grind them by removing water. Add water and add required salt for grinding..
- Make this to fine paste..
- Keep this for fermentation. I kept this overnight or 3-4hrs..
- Make idlis by taking a ladle full of batter and adding to each idli hole which are greased with oil and steam them till cooked..
- For chutney:Dry roast peanut and remove their skin.
- In a khadai add oil fry chilli,garlic and jeera and take this in plate..
- Cool them and add these to grinder and grind this with water and salt required..
- To this you can add tempering by adding rai and curry leaves to left over hot oil and add this to chutney..
- For Masala idli: Cool the idlis.Then take 6_7 idlis cut into pieces..
- Take a khadai add oil.Then add rai.When it splutter add chana dal,urad dal,dry red chilli,curry leaves..
- To this add onion,ginger and green chilli chopped..
- When onions are transparent add turmeric and chilli powder..
- Then add Idli pieces.Mix well by adding coriander leaves,lemon juice and salt..
