Ingredients of Veg Pulav

  1. Prepare 1 cup of Rice.
  2. Prepare of carrot.
  3. You need of Beans.
  4. You need of capsicum.
  5. It's of Green peas.
  6. It's of Onion.
  7. It's of Ginger.
  8. You need of Garlic.
  9. It's of Cardamom ( 2 to 3).
  10. Prepare of Bay leaf (1 big).

Veg Pulav instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for about 30 mins. Strain and set aside..
  2. Next cut all the veggies in desired size and shape and set aside.
  3. Now slice onion and crush ginger and garlic (1/2 inch ginger and 5 to 6 garlic cloves). You can even use ginger and garlic paste instead..
  4. Now take a kadai (preferably with a cover) and add 2 tbsp of ghee to it (1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp ghee can also be used). Once hot add cumin seeds and all other dry spices to it. Saute for few seconds (don't allow the dry spices to burn as this gives bitter taste to your dish)..
  5. Next add crushed ginger and garlic and green chillies (sliced, I have not added it). Saute for few seconds and then add sliced onion to it.  Saute onion till they turn translucent (don't turn brown)..
  6. Next add all the veggies along with coriander (I like to add it at this stage also) and saute for a min and add rice to it. Saute for few seconds. Then add 2 cups of water to it (u can even boil water and add) and add salt..
  7. None.
  8. Bring the mixture to a boil and after that put the gas on low flame and cover the lid. Give a slight stir one after couple of mins..
  9. This will take about 10 to 15 mins. Garnish it with chopped coriander. Your pulav is ready to serve..
