- Prepare 1/2 cup of refined oil.

- You need 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
- You need 700 grams of chicken.
- It's 10 of black peppercorns.
- It's 2 of star anise.
- You need 2 of cinnamon sticks.
- It's 7-8 of cloves.
- It's 1 of black cardamom.
- You need 7-8 of green cardamom.
- It's 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 2 tsp of garam masala powder.
- It's 1 tsp of cumin powder.
- It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- You need 1 tsp of salt.
- Prepare 2 of bay leaves.
- It's 3/4 cup of yogurt.
- Prepare 1 of medium tomato(cut into cubes).
- It's 4-5 of green chillies.
- It's 3-4 of plums.
- You need handful of Green coriander.
- Prepare of Fresh mint leaves handful.
- It's 2 tbsp of lemon juice.
- You need 1/2 kg of basmati rice (soaked and boiled with whole spices & salt).
- It's 4 of boiled potatoes.
- Prepare 1-2 tbsp of water.
- You need 2 tablespoon of ghee.
- Prepare 1 tsp of rose water.
- You need 1 tsp of kewra water.
- You need 3/4 cup of liquid milk.
- Prepare of Orange and tomato slices for garnishing.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of yellow food colour.
Easy Restaurant Style Chicken Biryani instructions
- Marinate chicken pieces with salt, lemon juice and turmeric powder for 10 minutes..
- Boil 6 cups of water in high heat.When it boils vigorously,add the soaked rice, whole spices and salt.Cook till it's 80% done and set aside..
- Heat oil in a kadai,add chopped onion and fry until golden brown, take out half quantity of fried onion & set aside..
- In remaining fried onion,add ginger garlic paste and mix well..
- Add chicken and fry until chicken changes colour..
- Add black peppercorns,star anise, cinnamon stick, cloves, black cardamom, green cardamom, cumin seeds,red chilli powder, turmeric powder,garam masala powder, coriander powder, cumin powder,salt,bay leaf and tomato cubes,stir well & cook for 2 minutes..
- Now add yogurt and mix well..
- Add green chillies and plums,stir well..
- Now add green coriander leaves and mint leaves,give a nice stir..
- Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes..
- Take out half quantity of cooked chicken & gravy and set aside..
- Spread fried onion on rest of the gravy..
- Now add a layer of cooked rice,place chicken pieces along with little gravy adding 1/2 tsp lemon juice,garam masala, ghee and fried onion over it. This is how first layer biryani done..
- Now prepare last layer with rest of the rice. Sprinkle rest of the gravy,fried onions, garam masala powder,yellow food colour,liquid milk,rose water,kewra water and ghee with a spoon..
- Now cover the kadai with an aluminium foil and close it with the lid.Let it cook on a low flame for 10 minutes..
- Open the lid before serving..
- Take some portions of biryani in a plate..
- Garnish with some orange and tomato slices..
- Chicken biryani is ready to serve..
